Viticulture
No two winemaking regions are the same – indeed, there can be myriad differences between two vineyards in close proximity to one another.
The unique climate and Terroir of the South Okanagan creates ideal conditions for consistently producing some of the best wines from across Canada, competing head to head internationally from the best in the world. This semi desert location is a special region within British Columbia. The combination of rocky bluffs and dry terrain lends itself well to being able to reach our desired levels of ripeness and balance in our grapes year after year. Sustainable and environmentally responsible methods in the vineyards are our focus as we manage throughout the year. We celebrate our vineyards and also appreciate and celebrate all of the other local agriculture in the region that we incorporate into our offerings at the winery.
Naramata Bench – Tom & Jeni
Location: with over a KM of frontage on the KVR trail, our Naramata bench sub-appellation vineyard rolls gently beneath sun soaked gneiss rock formations. This vineyard has a long growing season due its west and south inclination and the moderating heat sink that is Okanagan Lake.
Vines: Tempranillo, Cabernet Franc and Pinot Gris
Soil: Some loose gneiss rock fragments amid organic topsoils underlain by silty, sandy glacial sediments.
Cam Keith
